for my client family.
I know how difficult it can be at times to prepare a nutritious meal for your family or yourself. Because of our busy lifestyles or lack of cooking skills, we sacrifice our healthy eating habits in exchange for "fast food" restaurants and packaged meals.
My name is Michael Taravella. I am Executive Chef and owner of
Dinner By Design, a Personal Chef Service.
I started Dinner By Design in 1998 to provide nutritionally balanced meals for individuals who don’t have the know-how or time to focus on cooking and their dietary needs.
I am a graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco (Class of 1994), and attended graduate courses from the Culinary Institute of America, St. Helena, CA. I also have five years of experience in corporate food service management. Combined I have over 25 years of experience as a chef. With my extensive training in the culinary arts, my heritage in food appreciation, and my desire for nutritional quality, I offer you an exceptional dining alternative without ever leaving the comforts of home.

Breaded chicken breast topped with melted mozzarella cheese, fresh marinara, and parmesan cheese.
The first step is your initial consultation and Nutritional Assessment. Together we plan the menu according to your tastes preferences and dietary needs.. All meals are prepared off-site and delivered the same day. The meals are packaged for storage in the refrigerator or freezer according to your instructions.
I am skilled in many cuisines. My personal favorites are Mediterranean and Asian. The variety of recipes available are endless. I am able to create any dish that you may desire.
My focus is on nutritional balance and ingredient quality. Seasonal produce, fresh herbs & spices, lean cuts of meat, these all add up to flavorful and healthy food. Most of my recipes would be considered low-fat, low cholesterol meals.
I am also familiar with Atkins, Weight Watchers, South Beach, Paleo, and Keto diet programs, and can prepare meals according to their guidelines.
You can schedule your cook days on a weekly, bi-weekly, or on an as-needed basis. All meals are prepared and delivered on the scheduled cook day.

*A Complete Meal includes the Main Entree, Vegetable, Carbs, rice, pasta, or legumes, and has 4 adult servings. Complete Meals are packaged individually
or Family Style.
